Membership Application Information

Applicants:

Thank you for your interest in Women's NETWORK. The NETWORK is an active group of nearly 170 business and professional women and men who work and/or reside in Southeastern Connecticut.

Membership in the NETWORK is open to women and men who are currently employed or have a significant history of employment in the business and/or professional world. The purpose of the NETWORK, as stated in our bylaws, is:

"to provide its members with the opportunity to meet other business
and professional women in our community, to communicate and
exchange general and career information, to promote personal visibility,
 and to develop a constituency for the purpose of examining and
 speaking out on issues of concern to the membership."

The NETWORK is a member of the Mystic Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. Therefore, members may attend Chamber events at Chamber member prices. The NETWORK is involved in many activities including endowment of scholarships at area colleges; donations of various items to the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut; sponsorship of conferences and seminars; and the publication of a monthly newsletter, an annual membership directory, its own web site (you're on it now) and an on-line version of its membership directory with email and web-site links of NETWORK members.

Applicants normally attend a networking monthly luncheon as guests, before applying, to experience NETWORK. The luncheon is held the third Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Groton Inn & Suites in Groton. Effective July 1, 2006, the price increased to $18 with advance reservations or $20 without. There is a social networking time before lunch is served at noon, and time is allocated at each meeting for introducing guests and making brief announcements. Generally, there is a speaker or program on a topic relevant to the membership. To make a reservation, call 437-7448 by 10 am Monday preceding the luncheon.

If you wish to join, fill/print out a NETWORK application, attach a current resume or biographical sketch, and enclose a check for $75 payable to SE CT Women's Network. Return to the address below.

Eligible applicants will be presented to the Board of Directors for a vote at their monthly meeting. That meeting is always the Friday before the scheduled luncheon date. When they are accepted, applicants will be notified by telephone or email. The individual will then be inducted into the organization at the next luncheon. She or he will be placed on the mailing list and will receive the monthly newsletter, directory, nametag, bylaws, and other membership information.
